Hey Luke Ski E-Mailing List Subscribers,

Last night I burned the master copy of my forthcoming CD, "BE AMUSED BY ME", my 10th full length comedy music album. It has on it as of this date 4 unreleased songs, and 2 interstitial sketches, and a brief excerpt from "Bad Rapport" to intro the album. As soon as I get done sending this message, I am driving to Madison to drop off the CD at the place where they are getting made, so I will have them to debut at GenCon Indy 2011 this Thursday morning. I'm really excited for you guys to hear the new stuff. I'll be sending another message this Friday morning once my new FuMP track is posted with more info and links to pUrchase it on CD and/or MP3.

Oh, and there will be a new episode of my podcast "Bad Rapport" coming soon, we've just been too busy to make one. Anyway, I have no time to lose, so let's get to the important info I want you guys to know. See you in Indy. ;)

Hey Luke Ski fans,

This message is showing up much later in the week than I would have liked. That's because Sara and I are two of the over 600,000 people in the Chicagoland area who lost our power on Monday morning due to a wicked storm, not getting it back until last evening. Normally, I like to get these out on Monday or Tuesday, Wednesday morning at the absolute latest. Oh well. Anyway, since today is Thursday, I can remind you to tune in DEMENTIA REVOLUTION on Dementia Radio tonight (see links and info below), on which Devo and I will be recording THE FUNNY MUSIC PODCAST live. So there's that. In other chaos-of-life-related news, "Luke & Carrie's Bad Rapport" Episode #45 is going to late, since me and Carrie's schedules are crazy busy right now. We're going to try to get to it as soon as we can, so be sure to get your comments in on Episodes #43 and the Transformers episode #44 soon (again, see links and info below). In conclusion, please put in a request for "Snoopy The Dogg" for me for the Dr. Demento Show, and I hope to see some of you at Nerdapalooza this weekend! :)

Hey Luke Ski E-Mailing List Subscribers,

Thanks to everyone who responded to my plea for feedback on these e-mail updates. I have decided to bring the headlines back, since some of you thought that would help. Others suggested I have links to webpages with the story details rather than have the whole story listed here. I may do that in the future. This update doesn't have much new to say, except the specifics on my Nerdapalooza performance, and news of recent Cirque du So What activity. Thanks for reading, and please put in a request for "Snoopy" for me! :D

On June 25th, 2011, Devo Spice, Chris Mezzolesta of Power Salad, and the great Luke Ski along with Carrie Dahlby journeyed to Rochester, NY to the home of ShoEboX of Worm Quartet so they could record about 40 more sketches. Once Chris finishes producing them, we'll be relelasing the second album by Cirque du So What?, accidentally titled "STUPID COWBOY THING". There will be bonus CD of extra material available to those who pre-order the album, visit http://cirquedusowhat.net for forthcoming details. And yes, there will be tile.

Please REQUEST "Snoopy The Dogg" for the Dr. Demento Show! [Jun. 28th, 2011|11:27 am]

"Snoopy The Dogg" was #9 on Dr. Demento's Top Ten for June 2011, and the lead single from "Weird Al" Yankovic's new album was #2, meaning Al and I are now tied for most requested song of the year, with me maybe having a slight advantage because my song has been on more Top Tens than his (according to the unoffical fan tallies anyway). Thank you to all of you who continue to request my latest pop-culture tribute in song! I'm really hoping I can score my third Funny 25 #1 song with "Snoopy The Dogg", and the only way that's going to happen is if my fans let Dr. Demento know they want it to stay on top by requesting it once a week at http://drdemento.com/request . So please help me remain 'top dog' by taking a moment to request "SNOOPY THE DOGG" for "The Dr. Demento Show", and also, please tune into the show at http://drdemento.com/online.html and join in on the fun every week. It's still the best show ever. Thank you. :)

Larry "Wild Man" Fischer, dead at 66, on 6/15/2011.
News was passed to the Voohaha group via Robert Haimer today (6/16):
---
Hi peeps-
For those of you who care, the amazing Larry "WILD MAN" Fischer has left us. Guess he'd been having heart problems, in and out of the hospital for awhile, had a pace maker put in, had some transfusions, etc. Horrible stuff. Died yesterday. Well, Art and I did our bit for him, like we said in the Wild Man documentary. Sad--

Dr. Demento will have a salute on July 2nd.

May his soul be at rest or as loud as he would want it.

WHAT'S LUKE PLUGGING NOW?:

- PLEASE REQUEST "SNOOPY THE DOGG" FOR THE DR. DEMENTO SHOW!

There's a lot of stiff competition out there, both from my comedy music making colleagues, as well as from the king himself, "Weird Al" Yankovic, whose new album "Alpocalypse" comes out this Tuesday, JUne 21st! I'm really hoping I can score my third Funny 25 #1 song with "Snoopy The Dogg", and the only way that's going to happen is if my fans let Dr. Demento know they want it to stay on top by requesting it once a week at http://drdemento.com/request . - LUKE & CARRIE'S BAD RAPPORT:
Episode #043 – Deservedly Not Nominated

Suddenly, Carrie and Luke found themselves recording a regular episode of their podcast in a pretty regular way at their regular date and time. This was unexpected this week, but it happened nonetheless. Hopefully it will have been worth it in some way. You’ll hear Luke tell tales of cutthroat games of Pictionary, Carrie tells us that the movie “Tree Of Life” sucks and should be avoided at all costs, and you’ll find out which one of our hosts stole things from a business they were paid to protect. Also, Luke bears his soul and for the first time on this podcast goes into detail about the first creative passion of his life, and makes an offer to the listeners to get a chance to experience it for themselves. There’s also News of the Stupid, and comedy tracks by Groucho Marx, George Carlin, Green Jello, and They Might Be Giants. Years from now, when you remember listening to Bad Rapport, will you say to yourself “those were the best days of my life”? Probably not.

- TWENTY-SIX AND A HALF:
A TRIBUTE TO "WEIRD AL" YANKOVIC!

It's the album "Weird Al" Yankovic called his "second favorite album coming out this month"! It's "Twenty-Six And A Half", a new "Weird Al" tribute CD compiled by Austin Aeschliman and Jace McLain. It contains 20 tracks of cover versions and parodies of many of Al's fan favorite songs from the past 35 years, including tracks by MC Chris, MC Frontalot, MC Lars, Devo Spice, Worm Quartet, Steve Goodie, Nuclear Bubble Wrap, Raymond & Scum, Insane Ian, TV's Kyle, Dino-Mike, and more. There's even a track by Al's band, titled "Al's Band", detailing their long career with Al. My contribution to this CD is a parody of Al's zydeco "Eddie Vedder" song in tribute to his drummer, webmaster, and all around nice guy, Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz, titled "My Baby's In Love With Jon Bermuda"!

To buy a physical CD: http://weirdaltribute.com/store

For MP3 versions: iTunes:

Bandcamp: http://weirdaltribute.bandcamp.com

So take a break from stomping weasels and order 27 copies of "Twenty-Six And A Half" right now! Or, you know, at least one.

- LUKE & CARRIE'S BAD RAPPORT:
Episode #042 – Mostly Harmless

You don’t need a babelfish in your ear to understand that we are going to be making several blatant references to “Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy” simply because this is episode #42. In this episode, our hosts Carrie Dahlby and Luke Ski talk about life, the universe, and everything, as well as their respective trips to cities on Highway I-35 (Duluth and Kansas City), and play the newest songs that they created / wrote and posted last week at the FuMP dot com. The recurrence of News of the Stupid makes this podcast only slightly more tolerable than Vogon poetry. Just ask Marvin, he’ll vouch for us. And don’t forget your towel.

"We Are The FuMP" our 500th song! Plus, "Support Kenzie"! [May. 31st, 2011|12:41 pm]

"WE ARE THE FUMP"
Download it now at http://www.thefump.com

This is the 500th song posted at the Funny Music Project.

As a way to say thank you to all our devoted fans over the past four plus years, without whose support we wouldn't have made it to this milestone, we present the following song as our gift to you.

The song features, in order of appearance: Rob Balder, Tom Smith, Worm Quartet, the great Luke Ski, Raymond and Scum, Robert Lund and Spaff, Power Salad, Carla Ulbrich, Devo Spice, Carrie Dahlby, The Gothsicles, Possible Oscar, TV's Kyle, Seamonkey, Dino-Mike, Insane Ian, Steve Goodie, Nuclear Bubble Wrap, Project Sisyphus, Kobi LaCroix, Eric Coleman, Morning Sidekick, Odd Austin, Marc Gunn, Flat 29, Positude, Soggy Potato Chips, Max DeGroot, Beth Kinderman, Feng Shui Ninjas, DJ Particle, Art Paul Schlosser, The Consortium Of Genius, W. Randy Hoffman, Carl Hatmaker, Derwood Bowen, Flibbertigibbet, and Hot Waffles. With this many FuMP stars involved, you can probably easily guess what song this is a parody of.

Song idea by Devo Spice. Lyrics by the great Luke Ski. Music, mixing, and mastering by Bob Emmet.

All the proceeds of this song will go to support Heather Kenzie Gunn, newborn daughter of the FuMP's Marc Gunn. She was born with a heart defect and will need several surgeries throughout her life. Keep in mind when I say "all the proceeds", that doesn't amount to very much. So if you love the FuMP and are feeling generous, please go make a donation to help SUPPORT KENZIE: http://marcgunn.com/about/support-kenzie
